Quick post about these amazing illustrations. I found a book published in 1988 entitled "Ytek and The Arctic Orchid" about an old Inuit legend.
When the caribou become less plentiful on the Inuit hunting grounds, a young boy named Ytek goes in search of an answer to the problem of the vanishing herds.
I couldn't find very much on the artist Heather Woodall, but I did find a place to drag some images (instead of spending time scanning spreads on this busy morning) from the blog Sam's Myth (which apparently he found this book about the same time as I, weird.) Check it out! And I also encourage you to scour the internet yourself to see what you can find on this lovely lady.
