Heidi Swanson - Cooking, Baking & Photo-making

So in a feeble attempt to keep my attention on this bourgeoning blog (ladybynature), I find myself writing about a very well known blogger, author, baker, cooker, crafter, recipe maker... who also does some mighty fine photo capturing on top of it all: Heidi Swanson.

Heidi's blog is one of my favorite places to nab recipes from when I find interesting [and somewhat foreign to me] items at my local farmers market. She lives in San Francisco and its ironically the perfect city for finding all sorts of culture and food year 'round, what with its rich history in far eastern influence, rugged farmstead trail travelers from old, and a long harvest season that one could truly marvel at.

Her recipes vary in length of time prepping, pantry requirements and some seem much more difficult to a beginner kitcheneer, but she makes sure to have some quicker recipes mingled in with more time consuming. She also works hard to let the reader envelope themselves in the theme and background from which the recipe emerged. Her process, craft, storytelling, and the food itself create perfect dreamlike moments in the kitchen, even if you don't live in California.

Heidi has published two books (Super Natural Every Day & Super Natural Cooking) of her delicious recipes accompanied by her wonderful photography.
